Just uploading some pictures and video for everyone to see- enjoy! (I have not yet worked out how to edit my video's- so sorry that they are weird angles!)
Juliet is reaching all sorts of milestones. She's rolling like crazy, and has just started to try and roll from her back to her belly. She's found her feet- at least I think she has- she loves to drum them against the floor. We've cut a tooth. We can sit up on our own (for about 2 seconds only before she faceplants though). And coolest of all- she responds to her own name! You say her name and she look up at you- how cool is that!
So in spite of all the best intentions Juliet has decided she WANTS to eat. It's not about nutrition at this point- she just wants to do what mummy is doing. I've held off as long as I could, but all the signs are there- she's sucking in her bottom lip (showing the ability to suck from a spoon), her tounge thrust is almost gone (showing she won't push out food), she can hold her head up, she's grabbing at things, she's watching me eat. So I gave in- I'm sure it won't be the last time I do so. We bought a jar of carrots (I figure she's sucked on a hard carrot so might as well!) and tonight we had 3 spoonfulls of food... after I had breastfed her several times of course (so I knew she was full- so as not to impact my supply). She LOVED carrots. Which is why she got 3 spponfulls instead of the intend one. A lot of it came out of course, but a good deal got swallowed. So... I guess she really was ready.
I weighed Juliet today. She is 13.5lbs. She is getting so big so fast!!! She's rolling over more consistantly now, almost every time I put her on her belly she rolls. I worked some overtime today and the lady who watches her (Connie) worked until I started at 3, so I brought her in to work today to do the switch off. She is such a hit here- everyone loves her. I was looking at pictures today from when she was a newborn- I can't believe how fast time has gone. I want her to start talking and walking... but at the same time I want her to stay just how she is. I love the little baby cuddles. It's definatly not as warm here as home... I flew from 32C to 32F. Brrrrr.
